The Statue of Liberty and the Staten Island Ferry

The adventures continue! We went down to Battery Park and boarded the Staten Island Ferry. We were hoping for a glimpse of the beautiful Statue of Liberty. On our way to the docks we saw a bronze statue in the park depicting the poor and huddled, that sent chills down me. What an incredible sight to think of how many of our ancestors have come through this very spot! And there she was. Beautiful Lady Liberty, holding her torch out in the harbor. So incredible! What a welcoming ride it was on that wonderful ferry. To feel a breeze blowing through our hair felt incredible, on that hot sticky day. It was such a busy place on the waterfront with the little, but mighty tugboats, the ferries going back and forth to Staten Island, ships, and even an old fashioned looking sailboat. The beautiful parks, and of course, all the old and beautiful architecture in this magnificent city! It was a wonderful day!
